Today's (somewhat remarkable) #Syriac #manuscript discovery begins in a somewhat unassuming way: an early 20th century manuscript bound (as you can see) in the flyleaves / advertisements of an English publisher.
Taking a closer look at the title, the text is attributed to the well-known Syriac author Gregory Bar Hebraeus. I have cataloged dozens of copies of Bar Hebraeus' various works, but I do not immediately recognize this particular title: ܟܬܒܐ ܕܒܠܨܘܨܝܬܐ ܕܓܪܡܛܝܩܝ ܒܟܪ̈ܝܬܐ "the brief book of the spark of grammar."
Should have added this above: the manuscript is APSTCH PIRA 00021: https://w3id.org/vhmml/readingRoom/view/539465
