Julien A. Raemy

I guess by starting talking (or rather writing a question in the Google Doc) about Linked Open Usable Data - that is now very much tied to and (linked.art/loud) - in the session, lots of very interesting points have then been discussed around what "defines" it (API, Community-led). ping @azaroth42

@julsraemy Defines LOUD? pointer to the questions?

@azaroth42 maybe not define per se, rather situate it and it was not in terms of the principles but rather what projects/standards can also use the acronym or say that their APIs are LOUD.

@julsraemy @azaroth42 Nomisma really needs to have a greater presence in the DH conference, especially if there's a Pelagios session

@julsraemy @azaroth42 what I mean is that the numismatics LOUD community has actually accomplished what most other ancient world projects have dreamed about. But we have our own conference; we don't go to DH. And we've typically gone to Computer Applications in Archaeology, so the audience we reach is entirely different

@ewg118 @azaroth42 Reaching a different audience is a good thing, but I guess when promoting "we" (if there is such a group) should acknowledge what exists out there.
Typically; i've come across the following links/initiatives:
- LOUD design principles: linked.art/loud
- LOBID in Germany: lobid.org/ (as per slides.lobid.org/dhc-2020/#/) - ping @acka47 - Numishare: github.com/ewg118/numishare (numishare.blogspot.com/2018/07)
- Call for Proposals within the IIIF community since 2018 (I think), Archiving Conference and LINCS that have LOUD as an overarching topic
- My PhD thesis - phd.julsraemy.ch/
- Pelagios?

And a few presentations, mainly from Rob, as well as as couple of articles such as the CIDOC CRM 2018 Paper from @workergnome (cidoc.mini.icom.museum/wp-cont)

@julsraemy @ewg118 @azaroth42 @acka47 @workergnome This is a great thread. I think it would be great to continue the discussion. Perhaps Pelagios can provide that space? (This is an invitation to you all to join as Partners and get involved in the Activities.)

@ewg118 @julsraemy @azaroth42 Yes. We'd love to feature your work more and, of course, learn from you as we continue to develop the (and beyond) ecosystem
