Columbia University graduate student Mahmoud Khalil can be deported as a national security risk, an immigration judge in Louisiana ruled Friday during a hearing over the legality of kicking the activist who participated in pro-Palestinian demonstrations out of the US.
Khalil’s supporters say he engaged in peaceful protests against Columbia University’s ties to the Israeli military.

Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and Whatsapp has complied with 94% of content takedown requests from the Israeli government since Oct.7, 2023, according to leaked data.
The data reveals that Israel led a global campaign to remove content critical of its actions. Meta removed over 90,000 posts based on these takedown requests.
Most of Israel’s requests—95%—were categorized under “terrorism” or “violence and incitement.”

UNRWA sounded the alarm on Saturday over a rapidly escalating humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip.
"All basic supplies are running out in Gaza. It means babies, children are going to bed hungry,” Juliette Touma, the agency's director of communications, said in a statement.
“Six weeks into the Israeli-imposed siege blocking the entry of aid and commercial supplies, food stocks are nearly gone,” the agency also noted.
Dr Mustafa Barghouti, leader and founder of the Palestinian National Initiative and an elected member of the Palestinian Legislative Council since 2006, said that the United Arab Emirates has “economic” motives for its normalisation with Israel.
Barghouti attributed the shift to an Israeli government strategy aimed at strengthening ties with “young people who might become leaders one day” in countries across the region.
