Oh cool! Humble Bundle featuring 21 books by @scalzi! DRM-free!

Announcing the John Scalzi Humble Book Bundle, Benefiting First Book

I have several of these already, but they're scattered across 3 different ebook stores (and therefore apps) and a couple of print editions. It'll be nice to be able to bring them up on any e-reader I want.

The charity this bundle contributes to is First Book, "which provides books to and champions literacy for children all around the United States."

This morning’s email brought a manuscript I was scheduled to index *last August.*

This is why I tell early career researchers who need a book for tenure that they need to start planning their book very early. Like, month one of the first year post-degree. Starting to revise the dissertation or drafting a new project to book-in-hand is reliably four years.

But sometimes, it can be longer.

Now is a great time to book me for September/October to start planning your first book.

One of my pandemic labours of love was co-editing a collection of essays on @mogster's play, Emilia. After many Covid-related delays, it was published on 30 December. It's currently discounted in Routledge's end-of-year sale. The essays are short, readable, pitched to undergraduates and relevant to numerous fields of study. #theatrestudies #feminism #genderstudies #literature #shakespeare #adaptation #academia #publication #newbook #firstbook routledge.com/Notelets-of-Filt
