I follow fewer than half of the people who follow me. The reason I tend not to follow people back is that when I look at the person's posts, I see nothing except boosts.
There's nothing wrong with boosts; they're what keeps this place going. But I'm not going to follow you unless you post your own posts as well.
@joyce That's what I do too. The occasional boost is fine, but not when that's all someone does. Or, if someone does post but the boosts are swamping what they post themselves, I "hide boosts" from them. That's a useful compromise.

I have the same mindset. What one finds worth boosting is interesting. But what I'm on here tooting about is my day n reading what y'all days are going. So, if you're not tooting about something of your own, chances are your follow won't be reciprocated. 
Or if ya do on occasion, I may follow and turn off your boosting tooting.
