My home county of Laois was one of the parts of Ireland most affected by the weekend's uncommonly hefty fall of . You'd want to be a hardy person to be up on the Rock of Dunamase today, where the wind is brisk at the best of times! The Rock is topped by the ruins of a 12th-c. castle.
