"I am speaking today for one reason: I think it matters for our students to know that we recognize what is happening here.

We know that the Trump administration's attack on Columbia University -- its threat to withhold hundreds of millions of dollars from our university; its demand that the university accept its dictates about our curriculum, our faculty, our departments; its targeted bullying, harassment, slander, and far worse of our students -- has nothing to do with opposing antisemitism.

We know that this is about control."
